"Appalachacha" is Song of The Day on Sounds Around Town
Lisa Savidge News - 06/26/2011

The new music blog Sounds Around Town picked "Appalachacha" to be one of their first "Song of The Day" features. About the song, writer Mitchell Hillman said:

"Everytime, I hear this song though, I think of Dan Somers introducing it at their album release party as the finale, introducing it by simply saying, "This song is ridiculous." And he's right, it is, because it's so goddamn good and live, that night and the other nights I've been witness to it, it's a mind blowing experience."

Hear the song, see the video that goes with it, and read more HERE

"Fire Exiting" on Fake Plastic Tunes
Lisa Savidge News - 06/14/2011

Fake Plastic Tunes recently featured "Fire Exiting" and had a few words to say about Lisa Savidge recently. They were especially fond of the song, saying that "a few weeks later, this song 'Fire Exiting' is on constant repeat and is a song that I have fallen in love with. It is a short little song coming in at just 3:04 minutes but the opening sounds of this song just instantly hook me in and I became a fan instantly."

Lisa Savidge in Truth About Music
Lisa Savidge News - 05/27/2011

The "Indies and The Underground" segmet of the Truth About Music blog recently gave Lisa Savidge a spin, resulting in a rather comprehensive review and an even more comprehensive interview with frontman Dan Somers.

There has been some mystery surrounding Lisa Savidge lately... Was that last show in fact the last show, period? Was it merely the last show for the album of the same name - perhaps allong with the associated lineup? We do not have answers to those questions right now, but there are some hints of what may be ahead in this interview - the first since the aforementioned show. Check it out!

BCR Showcase is Final Lisa Savidge Show
Lisa Savidge News - 05/21/2011

To the surprise of everyone - including the members of the band - the Black Cactus Showcase tonight was also the last Lisa Savidge live performance. We live in turbulant times, and unfortunately economic and work reasons have made the now former Lisa Savidge lineup unsustainable as a group. Said lead singer/songwriter/producer/manager Dan Somers:

"While it is truly a sad thing that this band can not continue as we might have hoped, the album (Lisa Savidge) does truly encapsulate what we were trying to accomplish as a group, and will continue to live on - as relevant as ever. Live performance was only one part of our overall strategy, and I fully intend to see through spreading the good gospel of this album... Band or not. I am extremely grateful to have that permanent record of our time together and hard work."

As for what the future holds, Somers concluded the show by playing a new song - originally intended for the third Lisa Savidge LP - by himself after the rest of the band had left the stage. He explained the decision to do so by saying:

"I wanted to signal - in a tangible way - that you had not heard the last from me. There are still so many great songs I have yet to write (plus a whole album's worth I was preparing for a Lisa Savidge follow-up), and I'm genuinely excited to have the opportunity to explore other formats, genres, and ensembles in order to find even more fresh, exciting, and interesting ways to share those songs with the world. Lisa Savidge will always be great and dear to me, but I hope to top it with whatever comes next. Underwater Getdown remains one of my favorite bands of all time, but I've discovered such an amazing band in Factories that I simply could not imagine living without. It is hard to say what the future holds, but it's been shown that it can be great if you are willing to make it that way. I'm settling for nothing less."

"Fire Exiting" on Consequence of Sound
Lisa Savidge News - 05/06/2011

Well well, it seems like this song is really getting around. We would be remiss to not mention that the rest of the album has quite a lot to offer as well, so hopefully some of the people jamming out to that track are finding a way to check out the rest to see what else awaits them. Not that we're complaining or anything! "Fire Exiting" is definitely a good place to start, and a good little slice of that Lisa Savidge sound.

Anyway, this week you can find it on the Consequence of Sound "Mixtape Friday" series, in the "Something to CHECK OUT" section - located HERE

"Fire Exiting" on Suffolk 'n Cool Podcast
Lisa Savidge News - 05/04/2011

"Fire Exiting" on Indies and the Underground
Lisa Savidge News - 04/21/2011

Indies and the Underground have picked "Fire Exiting" as a featured track, noting that: "Phoenix-based noise pop band Lisa Savidge's new track "Fire Exiting," couldn't come anywhere else but out of left field. Taking flight with booming drums and whooshing, distorted guitars that sound like twin choppers, the track ratchets up the tension before opening up with a burst of atmospheric keyboards sounds, creating an effect that is at once jarring and comforting."

Lisa Savidge Around the Blogoshpere
Lisa Savidge News - 04/12/2011

In addition to all of the reviews and full features that have been coming in for Lisa Savidge, a number of blogs that specialize in doing MP3 or "song of the day" postings have also joined the fray lately, to include (though not necessarily limited to) Large Hearted Boy, Write Click Cook Listen, and A Big City Died. Also, Seattle Show Gal picked up the band's show in Georgetown.

Lisa Savidge in Rocktober Magazine
Lisa Savidge News - 04/11/2011

In both the print and online versions of this month's Rocktober Magazine, you can find their take on the new Lisa Savidge record, which can be summed up thusly:

"Like their homestate of Arizona, is HOT! All the songs seem more dark and moving and visceral than you expect but there's also a kind of lightness to them that you get with something that just seems good and catchy and sincere."

If our air conditioning bills are any measure, then that first part is quite the compliment. Read the whole thing HERE

Lisa Savidge is Gonna Need a Bigger Boat
Lisa Savidge News - 04/06/2011

Hot on the heels of their glowing CD review of Lisa Savidge, the Online Rock folks made their way to the Lisa Savidge show in Santa Monica (the first of the band's west coast tour), and felt compelled to share their thoughts on what they'd seen. This is another long one, but could be summed up by the conclusion (just after a discussion of the problems at the venue):

"Taking everything in stride, Lisa Savidge still sounded like an up and coming talented group to watch for. With their new CD out now they are starting to make a splash getting some airplay on some local stations. They definitely deserve a bigger venue and room not only for the band members themselves, but for the layers and depth to their sound. If you get a chance don't miss them as they continue their northbound journey for the state of Washington then finishing up in their home-state of Arizona."

Another very well-written piece (and one that proves that Tim Rosini can indeed find all of the words he needs) and can be read HERE

Lisa Savidge Review in Online Rock
Lisa Savidge News - 04/04/2011

Online Rock, having previously featured Lisa Savidge as the artist of the month back in January, has jumped in with a full review of Lisa Savidge. Being perhaps the most in-depth treatment the album has recieved since the Java monolith, impressions were good all around, with writer Tim Rosini joking about his own inability to find enoguh words to describe what he'd heard by saying:

"There is a lot to take in here from Lisa Savidge. Killing the terms "layered and textured sound" is not my intention but the depth of skill in their musicianship allows for dynamic shifts and genre bending progressions."

The whole thing is definitely be worth a look, and can be found HERE

Lisa Savidge on BreakThru Radio
Lisa Savidge News - 03/21/2011

On today's episode of BreakThru Radio, Lisa Savidge was featured for a second time next to The Joy Formidable, Deerhunter, Tennis, Twilight Singers, and more!

This puts NYC's BreakThru Radio squarely amongst the ranks of the dozens of stations, both online and terrestrial, across North America that have been playing tracks from Lisa Savidge regularly. A big thanks for helping us get this great music out there!

Lisa Savidge on Hooah Radio
Lisa Savidge News - 03/19/2011

Today, Dan Somers sat down for a half-hour interview with Hooah Radio (broadcasting internationally, affiliated with the Department of Defense) in order to talk about life after wartime and how his experiences in Iraq and elsewhere helped to shape the music. All in all, it was a great time and they played several great Lisa Savidge tunes during the discussion.

Afterwords, Dan remarked that it was "really great to get an opportunity to talk to the service members who might one day find themselves in my shoes... Kind of looking around and wondering what is next. Hopefully getting a chance to see what we're up to will inspire a few others to consider picking whatever medium and telling their own stories."

Online streaming of the recorded interview forthcoming.

Lisa Savidge Tour Kickoff/St. Patrick's Day Show
Lisa Savidge News - 03/16/2011

It was quite the week in 'Savidge town. After some rather well-publicized drama with where the show was going to be held (landing the band in the New Times several more times), a new place called Mugg Shots in the ASU area picked up the show and saved the day! It was a great night, and the set went over so well that the band actually got pulled in for an entire encore set.

Now the guys are focusing on getting prepared for their tour, which kicks off April 1st. Please join us in wishing them well (and that the first show doesn't turn out to be an April Fool's prank), and if you find yourself in LA, Portland, Seattle, or Olympia, take a look at the show schedule to see about coming out to see what all of the fuss is about!

Five Stars for Lisa Savidge at Rock & Roll Experience
Lisa Savidge News - 03/14/2011

Rock and Roll Experience posted their review of Lisa Savidge today, giving it five stars and saying that:

"Dark, dreary & primal in terms of the songwriting, this band might have a females name BUT it has a male singer & the music is a darker version of Jeff Buckley with depressing overtones & reverb drenched vocals that have guitar parts that sound moody as hell & ultra vibey!

"Over" isn't a traditional rock song, it's a rock song, but it's weird & that's the scenario for the bulk of this record...ambient, dark, moody & draining in both mood & melody, this is definitely NOT a party record."

"90 Pills" in the New Times
Lisa Savidge News - 03/11/2011

It's been no secret that Martin Cizmar, Music Editor of the Phoenix New Times, has been a fan of the song "90 Pills" since it first appeared on Lisa Savidge's Stolen Sounds. So much so, in fact, that it inspired him to comment that "Clearly, Lisa Savidge is capable of writing some of the best pop songs in this town. Seriously, that is a great song."

As it just so happens, "90 Pills" is one of two songs that got an updated treatment on the new Lisa Savidge (the other being "Headspace"), as the song had grown and changed a great deal during the live performances following the first release. Naturally, the band had been curious to see what Mr. Cizmar would have to say about the new version, and today he weighed in on the issue.

He said: "Listening to this new, much noisier version and the one from 2008 I'm struck by how drastically the band has evolved. Most local bands break up long before they can make such a drastic shift -- it's to the band's credit that the guys have hung together to make this new album. "

Check out the post, plus a streaming copy of the song, HERE

"Full Indie Jacket" in the New Times
Lisa Savidge News - 03/10/2011

The New Times have come in with their most comprehensive profile of Lisa Savidge yet, and also one of the first times frontman Dan Somers has specifically spoken about the influence of his experiences in Iraq on his songwriting (hence the clever title). Want to know what Modest Mouse has to do with battle of Sadr City? Or why toting a machine-gun is all abou existentialism? It's all HERE

Elk Cloner Finds Its Way to Indie Rock Cafe
Lisa Savidge News - 03/07/2011

It would seem that those Elk Cloners (demo EPs, containing a sampling from Lisa Savidge) that Lisa Savidge put out in the months leading up to their release are still floating around. As a matter of fact, one of them found its way to Indie Rock Cafe, and they sure seem to be glad it did. We think they put it best:

"From start to finish, Elk Cloner is a fascinating, genre-bending mix of raw power pop, post-rock and shoegaze; a thrill ride from start to finish."

And there's more, too, which you can read HERE

Lisa Savidge Review in Yab Yum Music
Lisa Savidge News - 03/01/2011

Yab Yum Music - after hearing the new Lisa Savidge record at their listening party last month - decided to weigh in on the album that a lot of people have been talking about lately. The verdict:

"The album starts out with a couple solid tracks but personally I felt it didn't get to amazing until the third song "Country Fear," a song about having everything yet still fearful of the unknown. It strums along ringing a very dissonant chord. The next track "Over" is another superb number starting off slow berfore exploding into a fury of noise. The album continues to rock, offering variations in dynamic and sound. "Moment of Silence" is a very impressive instrumental track written by Ellery and featuring his stunning violin work. The last three tracks will have you spinning as they propel you into supersonic speed and then, just as quickly, bring you back down to earth."

We tend to agree - though we think it's amazing from track one :-). See the whole thing (including some thoughts about our very own Black Cactus Records) HERE

Upcoming New Times Feature/Interview
Lisa Savidge News - 02/26/2011

Some of the guys from Lisa Savidge met up with Melissa Fossum of The Phoenix New Times last night to discuss the new record and the band's history. The interview ended up running for four hours and delving into a lot of areas that had never been discussed publically before, so the resulting feature should be an interesting read. Keep your eyes peeled on the next New Times issue to see about catching it (we'll also post the web link here once it's done).

"Fire Exiting" is "Singled Out"
Lisa Savidge News - 02/22/2011

"Fire Exiting" from Lisa Savidge (also appearing on the PP/FF EP and Black Cactus Records Vol. 1) joined such luminaries as Weezer, Get Up Kids, and Local H in getting the "Singled Out" treatment from antiMusic today - a daily feature where various artists speak about the story behind their latest singles.

This is the first time frontman Dan Somers has spoken at any length about the influence of his wartime experiences and the problems they have created on the music of Lisa Savidge, and a number of other outlets took note, including USA Today and Hooah! Radio. The latter, a DOD-affiliated streaming service for troops stationed around the globe, has scheduled an interview about the subject for March 12th at 4pm.

If nothing else, Lisa Savidge is keeping good company these days...

Lisa Savidge Release Show Last Night
Lisa Savidge News - 02/18/2011

The Lisa Savidge release show last night at The Rhythm Room was a total blast, with a great crowd and a good time had by all (especially thanks to The Necronauts and Dry River Yacht Club on support). A big thank you to everyone who came out to make it such a big success.

A couple of different publications were on hand to review the show, and they were pretty darn impressed. One was from the Phoenix New Times (HERE), the other from Az Music Connect (HERE), as well as Silver Platter, having previously blogged about the show (HERE), and recording some videos (HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE)

Downtown Phoenix Journal Interviews Dan Somers
Lisa Savidge News - 02/17/2011

Monica Arevalo of the Downtown Phoenix Journal got ahold of Dan Somers yesterday to do an interview and a profile on Lisa Savidge. For anybody who is new to the band, it's a pretty nice little profile that covers the back-story of the band well, as well as talking a bit about the release show for Lisa Savidge.

New Times Reviews Lisa Savidge
Lisa Savidge News - 02/16/2011

The Phoenix New Times decided to do a full review of the new Lisa Savidge record in addition to their previous mention. This time, from a different writer, with a bit of a different perspective. All in all, they seemed to like the record quite a bit (especially accounting for their self proclaimed "harsh critical" stance), giving it a 'B' overall. Not bad...

"Fire Exiting" Song of the Day @ Sonic Dissonance
Lisa Savidge News - 02/14/2011

Sonic Dissonance decided to pick Fire Exiting for their "song of the day" today. How did they hear about it? On the radio? One of the other blogs that's been talking about the record? The sheer charisma eminating from the Black Cactus offices? We may never know...

Lisa Savidge Hitting the Airwaves and More
Lisa Savidge News - 02/13/2011

First things first, radio stations across the country have been adding Lisa Savidge to their rotation left (western Alaska) and right (eastern Maine) and everywhere in between this last week. As an "emerging" artist, it is all about development with Lisa Savidge - the more stations play the record, the more stations play the record. The amount and enthusiasm of the responses we got even on the very first day the album went available for radio bodes well indeed. Of course, only time will be the true judge, so we'll continue to watch with baited breath.

Also, a few more things have transpired that will hopefully help the band push this latest release to new heights for BCR. Oasis CD decided to include a Lisa Savidge track on yet another sampler (this time, running with "Holding Me") which goes out to many of the same people who have been/are considering adding the band for radio play. Perhaps this little poke will push a few people off of the fence! Meanwhile, New Times and Angry Postcards from Nihlist Penguins have both published positive reviews of the record (HERE and HERE), which certainly couldn't hurt.

Lisa Savidge Release Party Rocks Bar Smith
Lisa Savidge News - 02/12/2011

Last night, Lisa Savidge commemorated the national release of Lisa Savidge with a private celibration at Bar Smith. A veritable "who's who" of musicians, press, and industry gathered on the rooftop patio to hear the album played in its entirety for the first time, and to see several of the band's new videos played on a thirty-foot screen. Reviews were rave all around.

Meanwhile, Peachcake kept the party going by taking over the turntables, and added a little surprise for those in attendance by playing their totally trippy "Country Fear" dance remix and a fresh cut from their upcoming record Unbelievable Souls, before handing the reigns over to William Reed and the Sticky Fingers crew for their regularly scheduled event. A big thanks to Bar Smith, Sticky Fingers, and Peachcake for joining forces with us to create a release party like none other.

The public release show is still going on Thursday, Feb. 17th at the Rhythm Room at 8pm - and in case you were feeling left out about missing the party - rest assured that you will also hear the entire record (first live at the show, and then recorded with the free copy that comes with admission), and the band has an extra-special trick up their sleeves for that show as well.

You can see all of the videos on Lisa Savidge's YouTube channel, and the Country Fear will be made available to the public soon - so stay tuned!

Lisa Savidge in The Big Takeover & More
Lisa Savidge News - 02/08/2011

The Big Takeover - The longest-runnuing underground music zine in existence (est. 1980) has decided to take a crack at the new Lisa Savidge record. As a matter of fact, Jack Rabid, the founder and editor-in-chief was so taken with the record that he decided to review it personally on the blog. Another feature will be in the print edition, which will be available at independent record stores nationwide in March/April.

He said: "Phoenix five-some Lisa Savidge (there is no Lisa) are a "shoegaze/dreampop" group according to their bio, but they're not so simply (self) pegged on this eponymous sophomore submission. They do dig the genre's dense guitar majesty, offering intermittent, beautifully breathtaking, mountain-peak clusters of cascading cacophony—but those are mere passages. They're as prone to temperamental soundtrack stillness, chilling post-rock, classical-inspired buildups, and even lots of harsher-faster-heavier post-punk loud-bomb rockers, ala Echo & Bunnymen, Pixies, and early Easterhouse. The closing, seven-minute, looming monster "Appalachacha (Pts 1&2)" is just a mega-capper for the erupting explosions that surface, volcano-like, throughout the LP out of both librarian hush and clashing, distorto power-noise. Finally, singer Dan Somers tacks on modestly soulful-to-agitated, throaty vocals to each clear-to-cloudy-to-cranky composition, insuring that even the wall of soundscape stuff is molded into songcraft—on this challenging, fascinating, unpredictable-turns work. (Black Cactus)"

Also, Martin Cizmar at the Phoenix New Times decided to give a shout-out to the Appalachacha video and the upcoming release show. Meanwhle, Dr. Music and 29/95 Music have now joined the ranks of blogs and news sites that are featuring the Lisa Savidge release on their respective calendars.

Lastly, Lisa Savidge/Lisa Savidge hits national radio airwaves TODAY. We'll get the chart positions posted up here once they become available next week. Fingers crossed!

Lisa Savidge on The Film Vault
Lisa Savidge News - 01/28/2011

Each week, The Film Vault (one of the top 5 podcasts in the TV/Film category on iTunes, and part of Adam Carolla's ACE Network) chooses a musical artist to feature along with their coverage of all things film. This week, that artist was Lisa Savidge and the guys had some great things to say about the band. They seemed to really like the dark/moody quality of the music overall, and were especially impressed with the dizzying quality of the "Fire Exiting" intro.

Check out the podcast to hear some clips from the new record, as well as some pretty great discussion of the "Top 5 Movies That Need To Be Remade" HERE.

New Video Up For Appalachacha
Lisa Savidge News - 01/28/2011

After several weeks of patrolling the Internet Archive for the best that the public domain has to offer for a music video maker with a $0 budget, Dan came across a little gem from 1961 called "The Challenge of Ideas." This government/propaganda film stars Edward R. Murrow and John Wayne, and details all of the myriad reasons that America is better than those filthy commies (to include an overlay of the text "This nation, under God" over the constitution, despite that not even being in there).

Nearly 1000 cuts later, the politics have been washed out and replaced by a raw human eliment - one that nicely matches the thematic juxtaposition of fantasy vs. reality in the song. This especially comes to a head in part 2.

The band plans to continue to make videos from public domain films: Currently in the cutting room there's a 70s soft-core sci-fi b-movie (there's a pun in there that you'll get once you see it) to go along with the not-yet-released "You Killed Me," and a reimagining of a science fiction classic scored to the also as-yet unheard "Moment of Silence."

Lisa Savidge is also on the lookout for a up-and-coming visionary film maker to shoot videos for a couple of other songs, so if you know somebody like that, contact the band directly at lisasavidge@gmail.com

For now, though, Appalachacha:

Lisa Savidge Photo Shoot
Lisa Savidge News - 01/23/2011

Lisa Savidge have finally decided to get some "proper" photos done after relying for the last several years on fan-submited shots from shows. As with the album art, the band found an artist in the needed medium, and gave them creative control to interpret the music as they see fit.

The band was out all day today, trecking through Tempe, the Roosevelt Art District, and out to Buckeye for some pretty wild shots.

Photos will be out soon, but in the mean time, why not check out the totally awesome photographer Chanelle's website?

Lisa Savidge Joins Up /w Planetary Group
Lisa Savidge News - 01/12/2011

Like most smaller labels, it's a little beyond our scope to do everything that could help our artists along the path to a successful release. That's why we were super-excited to see that Lisa Savidge has been selected to stand next to legends from Brian Eno to David Bowie and current inde-masters like The Decemberists and Spoon on the Planetary Group publicity roster.

With such a great album coming out, and such a great team behind it, getting it heard, we think some big things are in store for these guys and BCR as a whole.

Lisa Savidge "Featured Artist" @ Online Rock
Lisa Savidge News - 01/10/2011

Each month, Online Rock selects a band as their featured artist, and for January, that artist is Lisa Savidge. Word is that there's a review of the new record in the works as well. Details as they become available, but in the mean time, you can check out the feature on the front page of the site.

Java Review of Lisa Savidge Out NOW
Lisa Savidge News - 01/08/2011

The January issue of Java magazine - featuring a killer and very in-depth review of Lisa Savidge/Lisa Savidge - hit news stands around the valley earlier this week. Amongst other things, they said that:

"Lisa Savidge's eponymous sophomore album has a depth to it that is
very nearly unmatched. It is musically and lyrically a hell of a ride and it
is worth every minute you spend with it."

If you're in town, look to grab a copy at whatever cool spot is nearby. Otherwise, you can see the online vesion HERE

Lisa Savidge Featured in Pause & Play
Lisa Savidge News - 01/04/2011

Pause & Play, one of Entertainment Weekly's "Top 100 websites," and winner of an Esquire Magazine Mini Esky as a top music blog, has decided to feature the upcoming release of Lisa Savidge. Get the scoop on all of the noteworthy records coming out in the second week of February and read their interview with Dan regarding his feelings about the upcoming record (and the listening audience) HERE

"Fire Exiting" Featured on Oasis Sampler Vol. 10
Lisa Savidge News - 01/03/2011

Oasis CD sent out their latest "Alternative Rock" sampler this week featuring, amongst a number of other great independent artists, Lisa Savidge performing the PP/FF EP version of "Fire Exiting." These CDs go out to a large number of music programmers and other "industry" folks who use them to stay abreast of up-and-coming independent artists in the specific genre(s) of their interest who are currently releasing CDs. Dan from Lisa Savidge commented that:

"We think they picked a really stand-out track to include in the sampler. The version that they used includes a pretty cool little instrumental interlude that isn't found on our upcoming record, nor on the Black Cactus sampler, so that's a bonus. It's a little bit stranger than most of the music on the CD (they sent me a copy for review), so hopefully people will hear it and respect the creativity and originality we try to put at the forefront. I guess we'll see...

All in all, though, this comp is just great from beginning to end. There are so many great artists out there, and if nothing else, we're really glad just to be included next to them. I'm an especially big fan of the WAVES (a band from Somerville, MA) track on there. If we ever make it that far on the road, we'll need to look those guys up."

Lisa Savidge Announce Video/Photo Project
Lisa Savidge News - 01/01/2011

In support of their upcoming CD release, Lisa Savidge has begun undertaking a project to create video for the entirety of the new record, composed from re-cuts of the old science fiction, horror, thriller, government, and propaganda films that have slid into public domain over the years. The band stressed that this isn't going to be the usual "just throw anything behind the music" approach so prevalent on YouTube, but rather that a great deal of care is going in to constructing a narriative from the existing footage and creating a visual feel that heightens the experience of the record itself. Expect to see a string of videos released around the release of the album, some before and the rest after.

Also, local artist/photographer Chanelle has come on board to get some photos of the band for the various record reviews/other press that is beginning to crop up around the release of Lisa Savidge. Normally camera-shy, the band wanted to work with someone who could contribute artisticly to the overall feel of any piece that comes out about the record, and so have taken the same approach to this (necessary) phase of things that they did with the album art - find a great artist in the needed medium and give them complete creative control to express their own interpretation of the work. Chanelle has been listening to the record for a while now, and also attended one of the band's rehearsals to get a sense of the energy, and is using that to formulate some great ideas to cross over into a visual medium.

Lisa Savidge Announce 'Mexico to Canada' Tour
Lisa Savidge News - 12/30/2010

Lisa Savidge have announced that, in support of Lisa Savidge, they'll be hitting the road in the first weeks of April (right between SXSW and Coachella) for a 'Mexico to Canada' tour. The band will start out in San Diego ("Close enough to Mexico," Dan said, "I've seen enough war zones in my day"), and will be heading to Vancouver, BC on the far end.

Dates and cities as they become available, but San Diego, something in the LA area, Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver are all definitely on the menu - with "one offs" in Las Vegas, Tucson, and Flagstaff - plus a promotional stop in San Fransisco - likely as well.

Lisa Savidge About Town
Lisa Savidge News - 12/16/2010

Wednesday was a busy day for Lisa Savidge this week.

First of all, Elk Cloners were distributed to all of the hottest spots around town in the first Valley-based drop in more than 8 weeks. Following distributions in Mesa, Manhattan, Brooklyn, London, Oxford, Berlin, and Portland, this Phoenix/Tempe round is going to be the second to last group before they are all gone - so keep your eyes peeled for something like this------------------> as you make your way across town!

Later, Dan & Nick sat down for a very enlightening (and long) interview with Mitchell Hillman of Java Magazine to discuss the new record. He had a lot of great insights, so we're looking forward to seeing a great feature in the next issue of Java... Be sure to grab one of those if you see it as well!

Lisa Savidge CD Release & Necrnauts Tour Kickoff Join Forces
Necronauts & Lisa Savidge News - 12/01/2010

Noticing that the Lisa Savidge CD release and Necronauts tour kickoff had been booked on the same day, the Necronauts decided to move their show to the Rhythm Room to join forces with 'Savidge for one huge extravaganza.

So now the full lineup will be Dry River Yacht Club, followed by Lisa Savidge performing their entire new album from start to finish, and wrapping up with Necronauts - playing songs from Gauche et Droite as well as some old favorites. Three killer bands for one crazy night all for the low, low price of 10 bucks (which includes a free copy of Lisa Savidge/Lisa Savidge, so it's basically free).

Show starts at 8 sharp, so you can get in a full night of music and still get home in time to recover for work on Friday.
